Year End Book Goals

The procrastination has been real y’all!

There are so many things I want to get done right now but with working and taking care of 2 little ones, by the time I get a little time I really just want to use it to relax. I mean the thought of everything I want to do sound so good in theory but when the actual moment comes to actually do whatever I had planned, the motivation just is nowhere to be found. I even procrastinated with this post. Of course, it was supposed to be something entirely different, a makeup themed post, but I procrastinated and just don’t feel like taking all the pictures now. So, as I sat and thought to myself what in the world can I post now, I scrolled through my social media accounts hoping to find some type of inspiration. I scrolled past a picture of a book I have in my Amazon cart and want so badly to buy but have yet to buy because, well, I have a ton of books I’ve bought that I have yet to read and BAM! there popped up the idea for this post. I thought about naming this post “Confessions of a Girl Who Buys Books That She’ll Never Read” haha! Ok seriously though it’s a problem, like I really want to read these books but I haven’t even opened them yet.

So, I’m going to make a realistic goal y’all. One book a month! That feels doable. I have 6 books that are my top priority, and maybe if I get really motivated I could finish all 6 by the end of the year, which seems pretty doable too. I just really have to discipline myself (Is there a good book on discipline? No seriously?) I mean I know where I could fit in the time to read my books, but it literally is the act of doing that I suck at. I just have to do it and like I said there are a lot of things I want to do, even besides reading. So, I feel like this is step one to my journey of doing the do instead of just thinking about doing something. So right here right now I want to make the commitment, live on my blog to read these top 6 books by the end of the year and to give myself even more of a boost to keep me sticking to it, I want to do something like a book review here as a way to document this goal. So, feel free to hold me to this yall! Keep me accountable!

What books are you reading or planning on reading?
